School Meals

The Chalet School provides school dinners for all pupils that would like to order them. If your child would like to order school meals they can be ordered at a cost of £2.50 per meal unless you are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM).

The menu is sent home on a Friday for you to complete and returned no later than Wednesday morning of the following week. This is so the order can be placed with Liden Primary School, who provides our school meals.

There are four menus in rotation throughout the school year, which are listed below. Your child can choose from having a hot meal or a packed lunch, with gluten free and vegetarian options available.

From Reception to year 2, pupils are entitled to Universal Free School Meals. All pupils are entitled to these regardless of whether you are in receipt of any financial support/benefits.

For more information on Free School Meals and how to apply for them please click here.

If your child is entitled to FSM and unable to attend school for a period of time, please contact the school office. We may be able to arrange a FSM voucher for lunches missed at school.

If you have any questions regarding the school meals, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Snacks

We are proud to hold the Healthy Schools Award-Bronze and expect all parents to support the school with its healthy school’s ethos. All children have access to clean drinking water throughout the school day to keep them hydrated and healthy.

During morning snack time the children will be encouraged to try healthy snacks & drinks including fruit, juice and milk which we provide for a voluntary contribution of £1 per week. This can be paid each week or we will invoice you for the amount due at the end of every short term. If you prefer you can send in a health snack with your child each day.

Snack food on offer is healthy and nutritious and at KS2 the children learn how to buy and prepare healthy snacks and meals to eat together. Children are taught it is acceptable to have ‘treats’ for special occasions including their birthday. So you are welcome to bring a cake into school for your child if you would like them to celebrate their birthday in class with their friends
